Around Sounio- swimming

Places that you can visit around Sounio:

Site-seeing:

-The closest ancient monument is the temple of Poseidon, at Sounio. It is ideal at sunset, when the sun is setting to the sea. It is also a nice spot for coffee or dinner. The ruins of the temple of Athena are at the foot of the Sounio hill.

-The city of Lavrio has an archeological museum with findings from all around the region.

Dinning:

-Neaby, you can have lunch or dinner at a number of restaurants all along the coast, or at the nearest villages, Legrena, Fokaia, and Anavisos.

Swimming:

-All along the coast from Sounio to Athens there are smaller or bigger beaches. Some of them are remote and peaceful, while others are organised (with umbrellas, cafes, sea sports etc.)

Lavrio:

Lavrio is the nearest port to the Cyclades islands. But it is also a nice small town where you can hang out at afternoons or at nights for a drink.
